The geopolitical debate around AI export controls misses the core microarchitectural reality. ⚡

Restricting physical silicon access or capping parameter downloads won't stop algorithmic diffusion. Math crosses borders seamlessly. But distributing raw weights without computational transparency creates a dual security failure. It locks smaller players out of frontier development while giving enterprises a false sense of compliance. 🔬

Model weights don't hold an audit trail. Copyrighted material, poisoned synthetic datasets, and un-documented post-training shifts hide completely within high-dimensional parameter spaces. Traditional post-hoc benchmarking can't detect dormant conditional triggers baked into deep layers. 💡

The moat isn't hoarding model weights or building taller API walls. The true moat is deterministic, hardware-attested execution infrastructure. True digital sovereignty requires local environments where un-trusted model outputs pass through machine-checked verification gates before touching physical assets or databases. 🌊

Why settle for running static model weights in the dark when we could build auditable, hardware-verified execution planes?
